Our graduate certificate in Workplace Democracy and Community Ownership (WDCO) prepares students to advance deep democracy in their workplaces and communities. This fully online four-course program combines theory, practice, and cooperative values to build more just and sustainable local economies, wherever you live and work.

Students explore real-world models of the solidarity economy, such as worker cooperatives, community land trusts, consumer and purchasing co-ops, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), and housing cooperatives. Learning happens both in the classroom and in the field, as you apply your coursework to local projects and develop democratic leadership skills in real time.
